Club Call Signs
We currently have three club call signs in use:
WX5CRP was acquired for use at the National Weather Service for the ham station at that location. Previously the club used the N5CCW call for National Weather Service events.
N5CRP was acquired for use on all club owned repeaters and for use at special events and contests such as Field Day.
W5LEX is used exclusively on the USS Lexington.
The club owns and operates 4 coordinated repeaters in the Corpus Christi area. Both of the VHF repeaters require a PL tone of 107.2 and the UHF repeater requires a PL tone of 103.5.
146.820 Repeater (N5CRP)
The 820 repeater is installed on a commercial tower near Bear Lane & Navigation and is a GE Master II repeater. The 820 is the primary STARC repeater used for nets and most events and is also the local SKYWARN repeater.
146.880 Repeater (N5CRP)
The 880 repeater is located on the top of Spohn Shoreline Hospital with the antenna located on the top of the elevator shaft building. The repeater is a Yaesu repeater and utilizes a Link Communications RLC-CLUB controller with an open autopatch. (The autopatch is currently disabled)
147.100 Repeater (N5CRP)
The 100 repeater is located on the top of First Community Bank bayfront with the antenna located on the top of the building. The repeater is former Driscoll Children Hospital Repeater. This repeater has National Weather Service Alerts.
