Club Info

Monthly Eye-ball Meetings:
The South Texas Amateur Radio Club meets
the 4th Thursday of every month except in
the months of November and December.
The meetings start at 7:00 pm.
The meetings are held at:

Corpus Christi, TX 78414

In November, the meeting is held the 3rd Thursday
so not to conflict with Thanksgiving.

In December, we have a Christmas Dinner and
present the Amateur of the Year Award.


Club Call Signs

We currently have three club call signs in use:

WX5CRP was acquired for use at the National Weather Service for the ham station at that location. Previously the club used the N5CCW call for National Weather Service events.

N5CRP was acquired for use on all club owned repeaters and for use at special events and contests such as Field Day.

W5LEX is used exclusively on the USS Lexington.


Club Repeaters

The club owns and operates 5 coordinated repeaters in the Corpus Christi area. The VHF repeaters require a PL tone of 107.2 , UHF the 250 repeater using a PL tone of 107.2 and the LEX UHF repeater requires a PL tone of 103.5.

146.820 Repeater (N5CRP)
The 820 repeater is installed on a commercial tower near Bear Lane & Navigation and is a GE Master II repeater. The 820 is the primary STARC repeater used for nets and most events and is also the local SKYWARN repeater.

146.880 Repeater (N5CRP)  Autopatch Guide
The 880 repeater is located at 600 FT near Petronilla Texas.  The repeater is a Yaesu repeater fusion enabled and RF linked to SADRC and can be accessed by YSF US SADRC #84398 or WIRES X Texas SADRC 40324 . The repeater utilizes a Link Communications RLC-CLUB controller with an open autopatch.  (The autopatch is currently disabled)

147.100 Repeater (N5CRP)
The 100 repeater is located on the top of First Community Bank Bayfront with the antenna located on the top of the building.  The repeater is former Driscoll Children Hospital Repeater. This repeater has National Weather Service Alerts.

442.250 Repeater (N5CRP)
The UHF 250 repeater is located at 600 FT near Petronilla Texas. Will be linked to CRHRC Allstar link HUB in the near future.

444.850 Repeater (W5LEX)
UHF repeater onboard the USS Lexington! The W5LEX repeater is located in the original radio room on the Lex and the antenna is mounted on the yard on around 180′ AGL. W5LEX is on IRLP (4216) and EchoLink (907637 W5LEX-R).
