AUGUST STARC Meeting on Lex

We all met at the appointed place at the appointed time (OK, almost everybody was on time).  Three trips of the shuttle took everyone up to the USS Lexington entrance where we went inside, down a steep ladder to the Ward Room where we had our meeting.  From the pictures you are able to see that we had a good turn-out for the event.

Much of the meeting was concerned with the up coming hamfest in November.  We then had a discussion and watched a video concerning  BPL (Broadband over Power Lines) currently before the FCC for approval, which will cause interference from 2Mhz to 80Mhz portions of the Ham Bands.

Larry, N5XCI, then took the group up to the radio room where a number of hams made contact with W5ZD, a special event station at Texas A&M Kingsville, in the soon to be re-vitalized club station in Hill Hall.
