Self Reliance Fair

Self Reliance for Troubled Times

Thanks to KF5ARJ - Albert and KF5IWI - Carolyn, as they helped with the STARC booth at the Self Reliance Fair held on Saturday, January 29th, 10am to 3pm. The fair was located at:

    Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
    6630 Wooldridge Rd.
    Corpus Christi, TX

We had a great response from the attendees of the event with about 11 people looking for more information about amateur radio and a class for the technician license. More details about the class to follow!

We setup an Icom 746 HF radio and ran the coax outside and attached it to the High Sierra 1800s antenna on NØWZH's truck. We also had a Yaesu VX7R hand held on display. During the event, a laptop was showing either the "Amateur Radio Today" video with Walter Cronkite, or the "Katrina - The Untold Story" video. At times it was hard for visitors to hear the audio due to the noise level in the facility.
