C H R I S T M A S   P A R T Y

Thanks to all that came out for the dinner.  We had a great turnout.  The final headcount was 39 people.  I think the weather this year had a big part in the turnout.  Last year, it was cold and rainy.

After everyone had their fill of burgers and salads, fries, onion rings, soda, & milk shakes, Steve, N0WZH, great the group and thank everyone for attending.  We took a moment to remember the silent keys of the year, K5BWC (Bill) and KC5FLF (George).  Their friendly voices on the repeaters will be missed.  We also recognized the new people in attendance.  On behalf of the club officers and the board of directors, Steve thanked everyone for their support during the 2010 year and hoped that people in attendance would think about placing their name in nomination for the upcoming elections in February.

Steve then turned the floor over to James, AD5TC, STARC President.  James made comments about the events of the year and hoped that we would have a successful 2011 year.

Steve then read the list of names that had been nominated for the STARC Amateur of the Year award.  These included:
    VE Team
    W5LDB - Larry Boudreau
    AD5TC - James Ermis
    K5GJR - Randy Bates
    K5LYT - Robert Sisco

Steve then announced that the recipient of the award was James, AD5TC.

As part of the Christmas party, we requested that people bring non-perishable foods that would be donated to the Corpus Christi Food Bank.  A large box was filled by the generosity of the those attending.  We also collected $19.00 in donations for the Food Bank.
