C H R I S T M A S   P A R T Y

It was a cold and rainy night, but 30 Coastal Bend amateur radio enthusiasts met for the annual holiday season dinner.  This year, as last, we met at Fuddruckers for some burgers and fries.  I didn't see anyone getting ice cream or milk shakes this year for some reason.

Thanks to Debbie Buchanan - KD5QWH for bring two cakes, a red velvet pound cake and a chocolate bound cake.  Raffle tickets were sold for $1 as a fund raiser for the club.  Our youngest attendee, the grand-daughter of Jab & Pat Murray, drew the tickets from the pile.  The winners were Larry - W5LDB and Jab - K5CNZ.  Congratulations to both and again, thanks to Debbie.

After the cake raffle, it was time to present the STARC Amateur of the Year award.  We had 4 outstanding nominees which were hard to pick from.  The voting was close, but the recipient of the 2009 Award was Pat Allison - KD5TXD.  Pat and Charles were not able to attend, so we will plan on making the official presentation at a later date, maybe at the January club meeting?
