10th Annual !!!!
Coastal Bend
Hamfest

The 10th Annual Coastal Bend Hamfest was a great success
thanks to many people. W5LSS - Linda and all her helpers for organizing
the event, the numerous vendors that made the trip to Corpus, and of course the
people who attended the hamfest.
This year, we saw a 20% increase in attendance, even with the
tough economic/gas price situation. The unofficial final head count was
about 180 registrants. He had hams from all over the country (Texas of
course, Nebraska, Kansas, etc.). It doesn't hurt that we have a great
Winter-Texan contingency in South Texas.
It didn't hurt that we had GREAT raffle prizes (how about an
Icom 706MkIIG for a GRAND Prize and an Icom V8000 as the 2nd Grand Prize).
We also had a silent auction running on the internet and at
the hamfest. Items that you could bid on included:
